We move forward from two successful exhibitions in 2016 in Prague and in the USA to the challenge of an exhibition in the Netherlands in the Autumn. We continue to work on A2 sized pieces in portrait format and will be producing four pieces over the year with the theme of 'Freedom'. An essential part of our art is working in series to a common format which does give us all a framework for our creative endeavours.

Bamboo No. 2




For the second in my "Bamboo" Series, I chose to work with the bamboo stalks.  The straight lines of the stalks intersected by the bands to which the leaves were attached makes for an interesting graphic effect.  I enjoyed working with the different colored fabrics to achieve a sense of depth.  The yellow "sun" in the background is in anticipation of our approaching Arizona summer.

    Great use of complementary colours, Frances. They really sing out. Your Arizona sun must be ever present. Here in France we have just had our first warm days.
