Blue Moon
This piece was a result of two fabrics and my missing Africa. I was given the fabric with the moon shape and vines, then saw the indigo skin fabric at The African Fabric shop, and couldn't resist it! The giraffes are drawn from photographs we took during safaris. In fact, we seem to have had so many 'once in a blue moon' momments.

It's a long time since I have heard the expression - once in a blue moon - how well the fabric background works and I loved the giraffes!.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful fabrics! And with that title you can almost feel the longing that is poured into this piece.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great piece Alison. The giraffe in the 'background' is great - giving the piece depth - and real sense of the animals being there 'in the forest'.
ReplyDeleteThe material for the giraffes is fantastic, they look so real.Have you quilted the outlines of the moon and leaves, it's difficult to see? Love the colours together.
