Thoughts. Who am I ?
I am made of all the relationships and experiences of my life. So this little quilt is made from 200 squares of different fabrics. Thoughts, memories and ideas in circles, lines and beads, embellish the surface.Everything in the quilt is left over from another project. Framed within the 20inch by 10 inch guidelines of this journey. Then quilted with brand new thread, connecting me with new friends and ideas.
The binding fabric has white spots....... Moving beyond the boundaries? Actually not chosen for that reason I just noticed when I stepped back afterwards! There are two pictures. One of the quilt and one of the detail. Alison

Well done Alison for self posting for the first time - and what a lovely premise for the concept of the quilt. I liked the way the thought bubbles moved across the quilt and connect your fabric (experiences) together.
ReplyDeleteI love how you created this one! You must have had a lot of happy relationships and experiences because the piece seems so happy! While I'm sure there are less happy times included in here...just goes to show that they can be overcome till they are barely noticed any more.
ReplyDeleteAlison - a brilliant quilt. The concept really is wonderful. All those little pieces from your past - with so much meaning. And what Kelly says is true - the happy fabrics/times outshine the not so happy! Well worth the wait!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Magie, it is a brilliant quilt and so true to the traditions of quilting and yet it is so modern! It is absolutely stunning!
