We move forward from two successful exhibitions in 2016 in Prague and in the USA to the challenge of an exhibition in the Netherlands in the Autumn. We continue to work on A2 sized pieces in portrait format and will be producing four pieces over the year with the theme of 'Freedom'. An essential part of our art is working in series to a common format which does give us all a framework for our creative endeavours.

onwards and upwards

Well, having completed and posted my first piece, this whole process is very inspiring. Thanks everyone for the great feedback.

I had so much fun doing the first piece that I have been inspired to get to work on the next one. A friend posted a beautiful photo of flowers on facebook for Valentine's day, and I am going to try to do that. I am at the innitial stages of working out simplifying the design and setting it up. I need to find just the right background batik. Wish I had Maggies stash of fabrics to choose from.

I am going to try to use the fusable stuff I got when I visited Maggie. Will see how that works.

So, what are the rest of you up to???

  1. I am assuming this post is from you, Gretchen, as you refer to Maggie's stash. You have forgotten to put your name!Doing a piece for our group is fun, isn't it! I am fusing another piece just now, using WonderUnder which I find works the best for me. Good luck with yours. I must begin to think seriously about my next Voyage piece. Elaine

  2. Sorry ,I now see that it is you, Trish. Teach me to write before the brain is in gear!! Elaine.

  3. No not me!! I am busy hand quilting a 6'x7' bed cover- a commission. I quilt very heavily so it is quite a task and especially as it is about 30c here!! I have my next piece in mind and am looking forward to starting. Gretchen

  4. I am very busy but have not yet started working on the piece for this group. At the moment I am in the middle of an online class with Pamela Allen. 3 quilts are done, 2 not yet. Luckily I have an idea for what I want to do for the first challenge of this group.

  5. Sorry, I haven't yet figured out how to put my name in sutomatically, but am slowly learning how to work this thing. I just figured out if I click on the photo it comes larger. I will get there.
